Music

I play the French horn and am an active member of:

Literature

In my spare time I love to read. I am particularly drawn to political crime novels, my favourite being the Dengler series by Wolfgang Schorlau, and to historical fiction, for what it teaches me about other times, other minds, and other feelings, such as Als Großmutter im Regen tanzte by Trude Teige and Stay Away from Gretchen by Susanne Abel.

Sport

Running is my way of staying active and clearing my head (Strava). In 2023, I ran the Palestine International Half Marathon in Bethlehem.

Early Work Experience

Since the age of 16, I have worked a wide variety of jobs, an experience that, in hindsight, may well have fuelled my curiosity for behavioral economics. These include working at Junge Bäckerei; as a Spanish tutor; as a secretary at Team Rasmussen translation agency; as a waitress at Shamrock Irish Pub and at several Bierfeste; as an after-school care supervisor at a primary school in Hamburg; as an intern in capital market analysis at Hamburger Sparkasse; as a research assistant at the Chair in Economics of Professor Johann Graf Lambsdorff; and as a German as a Foreign Language (DaF) teacher to people from various cultural backgrounds, including Honduras, Finland, and China.
